The one thing about camping with my nieces and nephews is that after a full day of activities they are plum tired. So it's easier to start a campfire earlier and right after dinner.
My older nieces, Connie and Jillie, looked like pros when it camp to roasting marshmellows. For the younger kids it was there first time with their mom, dad, and cousin Emily joining in the fun.
